You start planning your safari, you go online to a dreaded travel forum and BOOM, you read a story about malaria. Even though South Africa is a low-risk country, it is still worrying you. Well, not anymore… We have put together a safari we call ‘safe journey’ that takes that worry off your shoulders. You start in the epic beauty that is Cape Town and finish off at a game reserve known for its big cats. Perfect for small families!
PLAN YOUR JOURNEY
This unforgettable journey is a favourite safari with guests from all over this beautiful globe of ours and showcases just a few of our favourite experiences. It can be changed or bits used to create your own bespoke safari, either for your partner, family, group of friends or as a gift.
Days 1-3: Travel to Cape Town and be Blown Away
On arrival in Cape Town, you are met by your guide for your short road transfer to your hotel.
Over the next few days, you are in for a treat! Privately guided tours by local, homegrown experts exploring the Cape Peninsula with its many highlights.
After the more ‘touristy’ things are out the way and weather dependent, you consult with your guide and decide if sampling some of South Africa’s best wines is something you feel would be a good way to spend your day or if you would like to head to Hermanus to, potentially view whales (June to December). Isn’t Africa tough!?
Days 4-6: A Different Bush Experience
Depart the hotel after your breakfast and travel along the N1 through the Dutoitskloof Tunnel and Breede River Valley where at the town of Worcester you turn onto the world’s longest wine route, Route 62. Once checked into your room, enjoy a lovely lunch with possibly an afternoon nap before your evening game drive. Dinner will be enjoyed at the lodge.
You will traverse this wild landscape with a qualified ranger in a comfortable open Land Cruiser. Numerous species of plants, birds, animals, and big game including lion, leopard, elephant, and cheetah can be spotted.
Day 7: The End of Epicness
After your last morning game drive and breakfast, it is time to hit the road back to Cape Town. Bear in mind, depending on your flight times, you may need to spend the night in Cape Town again (oh the horror). Do not worry, we will organise this and even plan an activity as well if you want.
This safari can also be extended or act as an add-on to any of our other awesome safaris below.
